The Magnum Fire Chest Range
The Magnum Fire Chest range is engineered to optimise wood-burning efficiency in open fires. Its uniquely shaped fire chamber enhances the burning of wood logs, achieving efficiencies between 41% and 45%, depending on the selected model. Each fire chest in the range is rigorously tested to meet EN 13229 standards.

- Innovative Design: Crafted from lightweight, highly insulating pumice sourced from the Hekla Volcano in Iceland.
- Easy Assembly: Components interlock like a three-dimensional jigsaw, forming a robust fireplace recess and gather. With lip glue jointing compound sealing the joints, the complete fire chest and gather can be assembled in under an hour.
- Versatile Sizes: Available with fire openings ranging from 500mm to 1250mm wide, each fire chest comes packed on a pallet with detailed assembly instructions.
- Load Bearing Capacity: Capable of supporting up to 2600kg of chimney above. Exceeding this weight is possible with additional lintels.
Technical Specifications
- Damper: The Magnum range includes a flue damper for wood-burning installations. Closing the damper reduces heat loss when the fireplace is not in use, significantly improving energy efficiency as reflected in SAP calculations for Document L. Note: The damper is not suitable for gas fires.
- Flue Sizing: Each fire chest has been tested to determine the optimal flue size for peak performance. Recommended flue sizes are provided in the range table, with a minimum flue height requirement of 4.5m above the fireplace opening.
